Two Noteworthy New Yorkers

I'm scared I might get bad karma for photographing the woman because she didn't know and I was doing so because her behavior was erratic (and what if someone did that to me?!), but these two individuals were disturbing in the slightest way.

This woman nearly walked into traffic. I felt pretty bad for her but at least she seemed carefree enough. I just found it interesting how bothered the person who alerted her that she was about to amble to her demise in the road was that he had to tell her so. Then she turned and went in a completely different direction, talking to herself about how she hadn't mean to make trouble. Hm.
This man actually asked me to take a picture of him and afterwards gave me a "gift." It was some movie that I've never heard of, "Invincible," but I was scared to open it and wondered if it was actually a tape of pornography or maybe there were drugs or something else incriminating in the case so I slyly dropped it into a convenience store trash. I wonder why he gave it to me; he was a tad suspicious but there was also something off about him, too. How do they survive in such a hectic, expensive city?!
And I'll admit, in retrospect, I'm really ashamed of myself I didn't investigate what was in that case. Why did I assume the worst? Why was/am I so paranoid? It's not healthy or constructive.
